Introduction

thank you for your interest in purchasing poultry, game birds, and waterfowl from gingerbread cottage farm. i take pride in breeding quality birds and strive to meet standard of perfection (sop) guidelines whenever possible. please read this policy carefully before submitting an order. gingerbread cottage farm offers poultry (chickens), game birds including peafowl and guineas, and waterfowl including geese, ducks, and select exotic fowl. birds may be available as hatching eggs for farm pick-up, chicks or ducklings, juveniles (often sold in pairs), and select adult birds when available.

Order & inquiry policies

orders must be submitted through the official inquiry form only. orders sent through messenger, text message, or social media will not be accepted. i maintain a waiting list and fill orders in the order they are received. i do not take deposits of any kind. once your order is ready, you will be notified via email. you have 24 hours to submit payment and/or arrange pick up unless alternative arrangements are made directly with me. if no response is received within 24 hours, i reserve the right to move to the next person on the waiting list.

pricing policies

prices vary depending on breed, quality, age, availability, and market conditions. i breed top-quality birds and aim to meet sop standards whenever possible. please understand that birds lay when they want to lay, and birds hatch when they want to hatch. quality takes time. please be patient. returning customers may receive future discounts at my discretion.

pickup & transportation policies

some species, especially young waterfowl and game birds, may require purchase in pairs, trios, or small groups. this ensures warmth, social stability, and overall welfare during transport and brooding. shipping availability varies by species and season. once birds leave gingerbread cottage farm, the buyer assumes all shipping risks.

farm pickup is preferred. biosecurity measures may be in place. livestock leaving gingerbread cottage farm must have humane transport, meaning the area in which livestock will travel properly accommodates them and provides protection from the elements.

buy responsibilities

please educate yourself before purchasing. you are responsible for understanding proper brooding temperatures, environmental needs, diet and supplementation, predator protection, enclosure requirements, space requirements, and local laws and zoning regulations. I am happy to mentor buyers regarding incubation, raising, and general care. however, it is your responsibility to research and prepare for the specific needs of the animals you are purchasing.

health & risk disclaimer

all birds are healthy and thriving to the best of my knowledge at the time they leave my farm. once animals leave gingerbread cottage farm — whether by pickup or shipping — i am not responsible for loss, injury, illness, death, environmental stress, predator loss, improper care, or integration issues with existing flocks. poultry and waterfowl are fragile livestock, and stress can occur during transport and relocation.

refunds & surrender policies

all sales are final. no refunds. no exchanges. no replacements.

do not release or dump birds in ponds, parks, or wild areas.

gingerbread cottage farm does not tolerate the reselling of any livestock purchased from gingerbread cottage farm to auctions of any form. i never want to see any of my livestock suffer from preventable illnesses, not receive proper livestock care, or live in inhumane conditions. the reason for my buyback and surrender policies. please love your livestock and treat them with respect and kindness.

legal disclaimer

by purchasing from gingerbread cottage farm, you acknowledge and agree that you are purchasing live animals and accept the inherent risks associated with livestock ownership. gingerbread cottage farm makes no guarantees regarding future laying ability, fertility, hatch rates, show quality, longevity, or breeding performance. once animals leave the property, all liability transfers to the buyer. the buyer assumes full responsibility for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. gingerbread cottage farm shall not be held liable for consequential damages, veterinary expenses, emotional distress, or financial loss. submission of an inquiry form and/or payment constitutes agreement to these terms.
